Amy Brown


Amy is the Chief Operations Officer for Adelante Consulting, Inc. In this capacity, she oversees the daily operations of the company and the work of its employees, as well as drives the company’s sustainable growth through implementing new business strategies, plans and procedures.

Amy’s work with Adelante also includes a focus on assisting public entities with climate change and sustainability, as well as economic development.

Amy’s  public service career spans more than 20 years. She has significant management and legal experience. Previously, Amy was the Director of Agriculture and Environmental Management for Santa Clara County, California and worked on issues such as food safety, sustainability, and animal welfare. Before joining Santa Clara County, she served as City Manager of Campbell, California. Amy worked for the City and County of San Francisco for over 12 years in various positions, including serving as Acting City Administrator. For nearly three years she served as San Francisco’s Deputy City Administrator; four and a half years as Director of Real Estate; and six and one-half years as Deputy City Attorney.

Before joining the City and County of San Francisco, Amy practiced law for eight years with two firms – first Morrison & Foerster and then Hanson, Bridgett – in San Francisco. She clerked for a federal District Judge for one year in the Southern District of California.

She is a member of the California State Bar, currently inactive.
